- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the effect of the CpG-ODN ligand on the production of vascular endothelial-derived growth factor (VEGF) in a mouse model of lung carcinoma. In the study, intravenous inoculation of Lewis lung carcinoma cells was performed and tumour-bearing mice received CpG-ODN or phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). CpG led to improved VEGF release and high levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) expression. VEGF release was induced by CpG from primary fibroblasts and endothelial cells.
