Poor Documentation =Poor Reimbursement.

- Abstract
Significant "hidden" financial and workforce pressure puts organizations under tremendous strain to minimize costs while providing quality care. Some of the many economic pressures felt by healthcare organizations today are increased cost of pharmaceuticals and blood products. Professional liability insurance rates in the United States, covering both hospitals and physicians during the past year, increased 30% from last year. Only supporting documentation through the nurse's accurate account of what care is delivered, by whom, and how-can ensure that hospitals can bill for all of the allowable charges available to them. Poor documentation equals poor reimbursement, which means more pressure on hospitals to minimize costs elsewhere.
