- Abstract
The recent EU elections have seen a rise in far-right parties, which has raised concerns about the future of migrants in Europe. These parties advocate for stricter immigration policies and tighter border controls. Factors contributing to their rise include economic insecurity, cultural identity concerns, and fears of terrorism and crime. The far-right parties' success is likely to result in more restrictive migration policies, which could have social and economic ramifications. It may also exacerbate social tensions and human rights concerns. France, Italy, and Germany serve as case studies for understanding how far-right victories could reshape national policies and attitudes towards migrants. At the EU level, the rise of far-right parties is expected to shape the overall policy framework on migration and asylum, potentially leading to internal conflicts within the union and reduced cooperation on migration issues. The future of migrants in Europe depends on the political will and policy decisions of the newly empowered far-right factions.
