- Title
The Ethnic Cleansing of Darfur Must End Now.
- Authors
Walker, Gerald
- Abstract
The article highlights the ongoing ethnic cleansing in Sudan, specifically in the Darfur region, where the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) under the command of Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemetti, are orchestrating a targeted campaign against the non-Arab Masalit tribe. The testimonies reveal gruesome atrocities, including the torture and shooting of children as they try to escape. The article warns that Sudan's chaos could become a breeding ground for terrorist groups like al-Qaida, jeopardizing regional and global security. The potential for al-Qaida to exploit Sudan's resources and strategic location, including its access to the Red Sea, raises concerns about increased maritime piracy and arms flow. The article emphasizes the need for urgent action to end the ethnic cleansing and prevent Sudan from becoming a central hub for global terrorism.
