- Abstract
The article focuses on ONS President Karen J. Stanley's visit to the cancer and nursing communities in Washington D.C. The visit was aimed to discuss the ONS health policy priorities and explore opportunities for partnership. Their visit was part of the ONS's ongoing effort to pursue its health policy priorities for 2005. Stanley visited more than a dozen Congressional offices, principally to discuss fiscal year 2006 funding for the Nurse Reinvestment Act. In addition, she participated in the National Coalition for Cancer Research Lobby Day to voice support on Capitol Hill for increased funding for the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health.
