- Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Biomarkers are defi ned as indicators of normal biological processes, of the pathological or pharmacological response to a therapeutic intervention can be assessed / measured objective. In this paper we follow the role of serum biomarkers within 12 hours of the onset of AMI-STEMI (myocardial infarction - ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) in evaluation in the Emergency Department (ED). MATERIALS & METHODS: The study included 45 patients diagnosed with AMI STEMI presented to the ED SUUMC between January 2013 - February 2014. Inclusion criteria: AMI-STEMI confi rmed based on medical documents (clinical diagnostic criteria supported, ECG, enzymatic). RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In emergency, cardiac markers and ECG complement clinical diagnosis of acute MI, with no marker „specifi c“ for its diagnosis within 2-6 h from the onset. The purpose of this paper is to provide information about Acute Myocardial Infarction -STEMI serum diagnosis in the fi rst 2-6 h from the onset.
