The article discusses several case law developments involving U.S. lease law as of August 2012, including an assessment of leasing issues such as the differences between true leases and disguised secured transactions, as well as vicarious liability in regards to motor vehicle lessors. The 2005 passage of the U.S. Congress' Graves Amendment and its impact on motor vehicle leases are also addressed.
