- Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to conduct a preliminary investigation on the fetal spine and occiput position during the first and second stages of labor through intrapartum ultrasound for the position of occiput posterior (OP). The study performed an intrapartum transabdominal sonography with 100 women. Results indicate that six OP cases were found from 23 fetuses in OP position. It concludes that head and spine position in second stage can help predict the position of OP at delivery.
