- Abstract
This article presents a case study of a 17-year-old girl with a non-healing, tender ecchymotic nodule on her left thigh. The diagnosis was determined to be Cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman disease (CRDD), a rare non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis. CRDD is a benign subset of Rosai-Dorfman disease and typically presents as a painless slow-growing nodule. Treatment options for CRDD include surgical excision, cryotherapy, topical medications, and systemic therapies for refractory cases. The patient in the case study underwent surgical excision and remained disease-free at the 1-year follow-up, although a new CRDD nodule appeared on her lower back.
