- Abstract
The article attempts to examine the use of information and communication technology (ICT) by faculty members at self-financing engineering colleges in India as well as how this application is affecting the Indian higher education system. It presents the results of a study which aimed to examine how faculty members use their time when searching for information, the colleges' availability of access to electronic resources (e-resources) and how faculty members utilize e-resources. The study suggests that engineering colleges add more computer terminals for faculty members, increase bandwidth for improved access speed, and appoint information technology (IT) staff to provide guidance to users.
