- Abstract
The article presents information on the commemoration of the sixtieth anniversary of the Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The convention was held on December 9, 1948, when it was adopted by the United Nations. It is stated that today, the Genocide Convention considers genocide as a crime under international law. To commemorate the Sixtieth anniversary of the negotiation and adoption of the Genocide Convention, the Case Western Reserve University School of Law organized a year-long series of events, starting with a major international symposium on September 28, 2007. On February 26, 2007, the International Court of Justice passed a judgment that Bosnian Serbs in Srebrenica, Bosnia & Hercegovina, had committed acts of genocide.
