- Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to describe the variation in seed germination of the wild species of the genus Zea in México. Teosinte populations which represents all the racial and taxonomic groups recognized in México were gathered in twelve states from 2003-2008. The study reveals that deep seed dormancy was discovered in populations in hot environments, while nondormant populations are spread predominantly in semicold places.
