- Authors
Elkington, John
- Abstract
This article discusses some of the ways in which business is developing new "win-win-win" strategies, which simultaneously benefit the company, its customers, and the environment through sustainable development. The author looks at the 2050 Project launched by the World Resources Institute, the Brookings Institution, and the Santa Fe Institute. It is a 4-year project designed to define the conditions under which global society could be sustainable in 2050 in spite of critical population, energy and global warming issues. It is noted that true sustainability requires industries to pay attention to the entire life cycle of products and to the changing needs customers.
