- Abstract
This article discusses a case of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) following a normal delivery. PRES is a rare neurological disorder that primarily affects females, and its cause is unclear. Symptoms of PRES include headache, nausea, vomiting, visual disturbances, impaired consciousness, and seizures. The article emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis and management of PRES to prevent permanent neurological damage. Treatment involves addressing the underlying cause, controlling blood pressure, administering anticonvulsant therapy, and providing supportive care. The patient in the case study showed improvement with treatment and was discharged without any neurological deficits. The article concludes by highlighting the need for a multidisciplinary approach and neuroimaging evaluation to prevent permanent damage from PRES.
