- Abstract
This work presents the history of three women workers of the Santa Rita de Cassia Recycling Cooperative, located in Rio Grande, a municipality in the extreme south of Rio Grande do Sul State. The methodology employed includes oral history and semistructured interviews. It is, therefore, a qualitative study whose general objective is to understand how women who work collecting recycled material recognize their identity linked to this work. Their daily struggle was intertwined with the theoretical references used in this work, strengthening the debate with and about women. Thus, the struggle, the construction of their identities, the right to be that these women have conquered and conquer every day are recognized.
