- Abstract
Structural health inspection acc. to DIN 1076 – current state of the update With an aging bridge stock and ever‐increasing traffic frequency and weight, the task of bridge inspection continues to grow in importance. Bridge inspections, carried out at regular intervals in accordance with DIN 1076, serve to ensure the safety of such structures by verifying the quality of bridge maintenance and the ongoing structural integrity of their component materials. While the structural inspector is in the lead here, advanced testing technology has been developed in recent years that can offer assistance in the inspection process. However, some of these new methods and technology exceed the regulation content of DIN 1076, which has necessitated revisions to the standard. The content and new topics included in these revisions are reported on in this paper.
