- Abstract
The article discusses the significance of bedside ultrasonography in diagnosing bladder trauma in the emergency department. It presents a study on 103 polytrauma patients in which 20 of them was diagnosed with clinical features suggestive of bladder rupture under the ultrasonography with retrograde saline instillation saline instillation. It notes that ultrasonography can help in making early diagnosis of bladder rupture, however, further evaluation in a larger sample is needed.
