- Title
Orson Welles, George Schaefer, and IT'S ALL TRUE: A "Cursed" Production.
- Authors
Jewell, Richard B.
- Abstract
In 1942, Orson Welles went to Rio de Janeiro to make IT'S ALL TRUE for RKO Radio Pictures. The film was never completed or released. This article situates the making and unmaking of IT'S ALL TRUE within the history of RKO, shows the destructive effects it had on the careers of Welles and RKO corporate president George Schaefer, and argues that the film ultimately destroyed Welles' credibility as a commercial film maker.
