- Abstract
The presente article deals with the research actions developed through the Junior Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBIC JR) at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Bahia (IF Baiano). The general objective is to investigate how the PIBIC JR occurs in this institution, analyzing the research concept that underlies this practice, in order to identify elements that can support the reformulation of the mentioned program. As for the theoretical contribution that supported the design of this research, authors who deal with Junior Scientific Initiation, Social Studies on Science, Technology and Society (CTS). This investigative path was carried out through a critical dialectical approach, of a qualitative nature, of a descriptive and exploratory character. The following procedures are the document analysis templates of the legal, normative and regulatory provisions of the PIBIC JR practice within the scope of the IF Baiano. And the data analysis was anchored in the technique of Content Analysis by Bardin (2016). The results revealed the existence of gaps in humanizing training, implicitly pointing to the presence of a reductionist scientific initiation practice in view of the materiality of the PIBIC JR in this institution.
