- Abstract
The monograph "The Kurdish Women's Freedom Movement. Gender, Body Politics and Militant Femininities" by Isabel Käser examines the construction of femininity in Kurdish society and the role of militant femininity. The author conducts ethnographic research in various areas of Kurdistan and shows that the struggle for women's liberation must be fought on both external and internal levels. She also discusses the relationship between nationalism and gender and analyzes the discourses on sexuality within the PKK. The book provides intimate insights into the realities of women in the PKK and opens up new perspectives on the Kurdish liberation movement.
