- Authors
Arroyo, Beatriz; Negro, Juan José; Blas, Julio
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the late Canadian researcher Gary R. Bortolotti and his links with Spain. She states that more than ten young Spanish biologists has visited Bortolotti's laboratory in return of his visit to Spain to meet colleagues, which allowed him to learn Spanish culture and geography. She says that Bortolotti, after so many years, did not master the Spanish language and can not pronounce the word "quebrantaheusos" which means bearded vulture. She mentions that the second Alma Maters of Bortolotti were Seville, Spain and the Doñana Biological Station. She adds that Bortolotti was working on a research study on Neanderthal ornamentation during his untimely death, and was buried in Doñana National Park.
