- Abstract
The article presents a study on the recurrence of mesangial deposition of IgA after renal transplantation. Mesangial IgA does not contain secretory piece, and it is usually accompanied by some IgG. In most patients, with mesangial deposition of IgA, the serum concentration of IgA is high, but in some patients, it may be normal or even low. Immunofluorescence microscopy disclosed mesangial deposition of IgA and C3. Mesangial deposits containing IgA have been observed in patients with cirrhosis of the liver and with acute viral hepatitis. Morphologic evidence of recurrence of mesangial IgA is accompanied by clinical manifestations, i.e., light proteinuria and microscopic hematuria.
