- Abstract
The article discusses the land in Mindanao, Philippines and its relation to the conflict and resolution to the peace and development of the region. During the presidency of Corazon Aquino, the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) pushed for their autonomy in Mindanao. It is stated that conflict can be stabilized if its approached through the principle of ancestral domain, taking into account justice, minority rights, and political and economic autonomy.
