- Title
"JCCO:" THE EMERGING JEWISH COMMUNITY OF CENTRAL OREGON.
- Authors
Seldner, Rebecca
- Abstract
The article focuses on the Jewish Community of Central Oregon (JCCO). The organization has about 50 member families and 25 affiliated families as of 1997. It cites the reason why most Jews who moved to Bend were not looking for a Jewish community. The JCCO hosts a twice-monthly religious school, almost monthly visits from Ashland's Rabbi David Zaslow and its own Torah and burial ground. The director of religious education of JCCO is Dinah Kerzner. A committee was established by the JCCO to define its goals as a Jewish community.
