- Abstract
Large area wireless sensor network deploys enormous number of nodes for intrusion detection. The possibility that some of the nodes become malicious is inevitable in the unattended environment. It is required to perform intrusion detection process with potential nodes (nodes with at least minimum threshold energy and minimum trust). This paper presents a method for intrusion detection with potential nodes. Energy consumption of the nodes is measured and the detection process is distributed among the nodes which enhances the network life time. Selection of optimum number of nodes for detecting the intruder in rounds which cover the deployment area reduces average energy consumption in the network. It is found that our simulation validates analytical results.
