The authors recommended that high-risk patients be identified with preoperative abnormal gas exchange measurement data from polysomnography (PSG) to prevent postoperative RAE in pediatric patients undergoing TA. Practice guidelines for the perioperative management of patients with obstructive sleep apnea: an updated report by the American Society of Anesthesiologists Task Force on perioperative management of patients with obstructive sleep apnea. We have read with interest the study on preventing postoperative respiratory adverse events (RAE) in pediatric patients who underwent adenotonsillectomy (TA).[1] However, we want to present our criticisms about the study by reminding the vital strategies for preventing postoperative respiratory adverse events in this population.
