- Abstract
The article focuses on the relation between the public's concept of freedom and the American criminal justice system's competency. It states that it is the minorities who are often highly anxious of injustice because they are usually the victims of hate crimes. It takes into account the disparity in the level of law enforcement of two events in Jena, Louisiana, which are a noose hanging incident wherein the black students were the alleged victims and a schoolyard fight wherein the black students were the alleged wrongdoers.
