The article offers chemistry and industry news briefs as of February 2013. United Airlines has agreed to stop carrying non-human primates being transported for research purposes, a demand of animal-rights advocacy groups. The discovery of horse DNA in hamburgers being sold in Great Britain may spur greater use of DNA analysis in food safety monitoring. The graphene market is forecast to expand dramatically over the 2013-2020 period, primarily for graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs).
