- Abstract
The article reflects on two cases under the U.S. Supreme Court personal jurisdiction including Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations, S.A. v. Brown and J. McIntyre Machinery Ltd. v. Nicastro. In Goodyear case North Carolina plaintiffs were killed in a bus accident in Paris, France resulting from defective tire manufactured by foreign subsidiaries of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. In Nicastro case, the plaintiff was injured by a metal-shearing machine in a work-related accident in New Jersey.
