CAMPAIGNING TO BUILD STRONGER UNIONS.
- Authors
Alexander, Glenda
- Abstract
The article reports on the Australian Congress of Trade Unions' third conference in Sydney, Australia, in September 2005, which was attended by eight members of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation's industrial team. Union officials, particularly organisers or those who hold leadership roles as union staff members, were aimed by the conference. The theme of the conference was "Game On"--which focused on the new industrial relations environment faced by Australian unions, very similar to what New Zealand experienced in the 1990s under the Employment Contracts Act.
