- Abstract
The article reports on the controversy behind adjuvant treatment of stage IB lung cancer. The author stresses the survival rate with adjuvant chemotherapy, the important issue of heterogeneity within the stage IB subset and genomic factors on determining tumor. The author notes the clinical staging of the tumor, nodes and metastases to clearly predict prognosis. He further notes that the benefits for stage IB disease do not exist but it is proven to be effective in larger tumors.
