- Title
Lagomorph distribution across Little Karoo vegetation types.
- Authors

- Abstract
With the exception of the riverine rabbit (Bunolagus monticularis), lagomorphs in the Karoo are regarded as widely distributed. Previous research has shown that although lagomorphs prefer grass species for forage, they also utilize large amounts of browse. Given the large variation among vegetation types within the Little Karoo it is unlikely that the common lagomorphs are as evenly distributed as assumed. Evidence from dung counts suggests that lagomorphs preferentially use grassy vegetation types and that dung counts are correlated with the amount of grass in an area.
