- Title
Lastenradcontainer aus Flachsfaser: Universität Stuttgart.
- Abstract
Researchers from the University of Stuttgart, in collaboration with Radkutsche GmbH, have developed a swap container system for cargo bikes based on flax fibers and bio-based plastic. The CoaLa project aims to make urban delivery traffic more sustainable. By using flax fibers in combination with bio-based plastic, similar mechanical properties to those of glass fiber plastics can be achieved. A new manufacturing process enables the production of flax fiber composite material with higher quality and reduced waste. The container has an integrated energy concept and connection points for the cargo bike, allowing the bike to be simultaneously loaded with a new container and a fully charged battery. The project was funded with 360,000 euros by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.
