- Abstract
The article reports on the new policy for ginning and pressing of cotton in Maharashtra, India. The Maharashtra government is creating a new cotton policy to make sure that cultivators of cotton get high prices for their cotton products. The government will try to push cotton farmers to plant a single variety of cotton instead of several varieties during the 2007-2008 cultivation season. The government is also planning to set up 36 ginning and pressing mills in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
