- Abstract
An essay is presented which explores the use of operational systems by the Great Britain Flood Forecast Center, to forecast the storm surges and tides in Great Britain. It mentions the collaboration made by the Great Britain's Meteorological Office (Met Office) with the National Centre for Ocean Forecasting (NCOF) to create development of ocean forecasting. It also adds the development of global and basin-scale open ocean prediction systems to monitor the physical state of the ocean.
