- Abstract
The article discusses the extraction of amides containing sulfur from the plant species Clinacanthus siamensis of the plant Acanthaceae. Particular focus is given to the therapeutic use of the plant in the treatment of the disease caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV). Uses of various components of the plant using spectroscopic techniques including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), infrared spectroscopy (IR), and mass spectrometry (MS) are also discussed.
