- Abstract
Instant noodles are a highly popular food among various groups of people. Currently, instant noodles available in Indonesia are not only locally produced but also imported from other countries, and their halal status may be questionable. This research aims to identify the relationship between halal food knowledge and awareness in choosing imported instant noodles among students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The study adopts a survey method with a crosssectional approach. The research sample consists of 100 active students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta, ranging from the 4th to 8th academic year, and practicing Islam. Sampling was conducted using the proportional stratified random sampling method. The research findings indicate that 68% of the 100 students possess a high level of halal food knowledge, and 69% of the students have a sufficient level of awareness when selecting imported instant noodles. Correlation analysis reveals a significant positive relationship between halal food knowledge and awareness in choosing imported instant noodles (r-value = 0.986 > r-table 0.197) with a coefficient of determination of 97.2%. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that students of Universitas Negeri Jakarta will maintain and enhance their knowledge of halal food and awareness in choosing imported instant noodles.
