The article discusses research collaboration between University of Nottingham's Institute for Medieval Research and Centre for Biomolecular Sciences, that found a potion to kill 90 percent of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteria in in vivo wound biopsies of mouse models. Topics discussed include Bald's eye salve recipe from "Leechbook," bacterial effect from combination of ingredients and dilution to affect bacterial cell-cell communication (quorum sensing).
