- Authors
COPE, KEVIN L.; CRABTREE, CHARLES; LUPU, YONATAN
- Abstract
The article discusses how political scientists could draw on developments in law and insights from history to take up a set of thus-far under-explored questions. The bulk of human rights scholarship has focused on respect for physical integrity rights. According to research, violent human rights abuses in general have decreased globally from the 1960s to 2019. The article also focuses on the difference between reactive repression and preventative repression.
