- Abstract
The process of selecting the best students at Santa Maria Kabanjahe Private High School is still manual. So it is necessary to make a decision support application in determining the best students using computerization with the Addative Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method. With this application, it is able to assist the school in making decisions regarding the determination of the best students. The problem of selecting the best students can be solved by making a decision support system (DSS) using the ARAS method, because the ARAS method generally does a lot of ranking by comparing other alternatives so as to get the ideal and best results including physical systems, decision systems and information systems. The research objective is to build a DSS that adopts the desktop-based ARAS method in solving problems. The data sample used is 15 student data and 7 criteria, namely class rank, academic value, attendance, social, spiritual, extracurricular values and neatness/appearance. The results obtained by the decision value with the highest Ki = 0.9816, namely Assisi Putriani as the best alternative, which means that the ARAS method can be used for decision making based on predetermined criteria, so that the school can choose the best students. With this research, it can provide a reference for the results of the decision so as to help the school to make it easier to determine the best students quickly, precisely and objectively.
