- Abstract
Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBE) is a virus transmitted by tick bites or infected dairy products. It can cause symptoms in about one-third of cases and affects the central nervous system. The virus targets specific areas of the brain involved in movement, leading to involuntary movements such as tremors and dystonia. This article presents a case study of a patient who developed involuntary movements after being diagnosed with TBE. It emphasizes the importance of considering TBE as a potential cause of meningoencephalitis and the need for ongoing clinical evaluations in patients with movement disorders.
