- Abstract
This paper reports on the historical and recent composition of bryophytes and vascular flora of the limestone hill Třesín near the town of Litovel. Altogether 139 species of bryophytes and 462 vascular plant taxa were found by way of recent research at the locality. From these, 4 bryophyte taxa and 31 vascular taxa are considered to be threatened taxa in the Czech Republic. The most interesting species occurring at the area of Třesín hill are Atrichum angustatum, Didymodon sinuosus, Seligeria pusilla, Cephalanthera longifolia, Platanthera bifolia, Sorbus torminalis. Carpathian oak-hornbeam forest (Carici pilosae-Carpinetum) and carpathian beechwood forests (Carici pilosae-Fagetum) are the dominant type of vegetation at the territory. Less frequent are nitrophilous beechwood forests (Mercuriali-Fagetum), ravine and rock outcrop forests (Aceri-Tilietum) and alderash stream forests (Stellario nemorum-Alnetum glutinosae). The most interesting forest type is represented by thermophilous oak forest which is found on the southern slopes on base-rich soils, with the occurrence of several thermophilous plant species. Non-forest vegetation is represented by mesic grasslands (Arrhenatherion), forest mantel vegetation (Trifolion medii) and calcicolous fern vegetation on limestone cliffs or outcrops (Cystopteridion). Present and historical composition of vascular flora of the Třesín hill were compared. Rapid decline in the number of endangered vascular plant species has been recorded at the Třesín hill during the last 30 years.
