- Abstract
The article presents a research which examines a new system of appointment control for dental offices. The system, as reported, will allow maximum productivity in addition to reducing stress and confusion by putting the dental practitioner and the office in control of the schedule. Implementation of the system, as reported, has several prerequisites including, a formally written treatment plan, willingness on the part of the practitioner to delegate the authority, to a staff member, for keeping the appointment book, and a work sheet which is referred to as an appointment plan. The appointment plans, as reported, has four steps including, completion of the procedure column by the dentist, time coding, and modifying procedural grouping.
