- Authors
Rommel, P.
- Abstract
The article discusses the technique for coronal build-up retention for vital posterior tooth preparations. It notes that the time and skills reacquired needed to facilitate retention of coronal build-ups of plastic material through inserted pins limits the procedures in actual practice. It also mentions the collapse in thin peripheral wall that leads to the failure of the amalgam restorations in teeth during the preparations and the early stage of amalgam plugging. Further, it asserts that the coronal build-up of vital teeth via retention hole technique is not suitable for crowns.
