In this article the author reflects on the life and work of French poet and playwright Antonin Artaud. He cites his thoughts about otherness, society and theater, notes his mental instability and describes several passages of his life including his visit to Mexico, his stay in Ireland and his internment in several mental asylums. The author also considers Artaud's disdain for his society's pragmatic and reductionist view of the human condition.
