- Abstract
The article discusses the political platforms of the two contending parties in the 2006 Mexican Presidential election. The author considers the proposals of the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN, National Action Party) led by candidate Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, and the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD, Democratic Revolution Party) led by Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador, in terms of their resonance with leftist and rightist political ideologies in other countries.
