Elaborated Evidence for the Priority of 1 Samuel 26.
- Authors
McKenzie, Steven L.
- Abstract
This article presents critical analysis of the Old Testament passages of 1 Samuel 24 and 26, discussing the interrelatedness of the two accounts of the Jewish kings David and Saul. Introductory notes are provided reviewing the scholastic literature debating the priority of one account over the other, particularly noting that of Cynthia Edenburg which argues for a specific form of interconnected narrative. The author then supports Edenburg's view with additional evidences and conclusions.
