- Abstract
The article reports on the formation of a National Advisory Committee on Dyslexia and Related Reading by the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. The committee is composed of leaders in various fields. Arleigh B. Templeton was appointed as chairman of the organization. The members are tasked to examine in detail areas of research, diagnosis and evaluation, teacher preparation and corrective education methods for dyslexia and related reading disorders. Recommendations needed to deal with dyslexia and related disorders are expected to be produced by the committee.
