- Authors
Kahn, Charles H.
- Abstract
The article reports on the introduction of a unit of driver education into the special class program for mentally retarded students at Hayward High School in California. The development of a course of study which will help the student realize that each step he takes brings him closer to his goal of acquiring a driver's license is the key to success in a program of driver education. The three major considerations that prompted the decision to initiate the course were discussed. The major elements in the success of the program of driver education for the mentally retarded were identified.
