The article focuses on the initiatives of the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research (AHRQ) that aim to conduct academic detailing activities to raise awareness on the comparative effectiveness research program in 2011. The benefit of the program to the health-related decision making by patients and their families was emphasized in an AHRQ publication. Total Therapeutic Management Inc. will offer in-person visits to clinicians and health care system decision makers. Associate professor Joshua D. Lenchus expressed his cost-pressure concern. Doctor Jerry Avorn stressed the need for treatment information to be apparent.
